Meet Ellie

Ellie is a third generation IGR pup. Her "superpower" is a gentle calmness. It honestly shocks me that Ellie took over as leader of our pack when Georgia died. She's such a quiet leader, doesn't correct anyone, but everyone respects her. The way I know that is when I place a large bowl down on the floor for everyone to lick clean, multiple dogs go in for licks, but one by one they all back away and Ellie is the one left with all the spoils.
Ellie is named after the missionary Elizabeth Elliot. She experienced great sorrow when her husband was murdered by the people he was ministering to. After lots of research on Elizabeth Elliot, I learned that she experienced multiple times of sorrow in her life, but always had hope of joy...because of her faith in our Lord.
Once Ellie retires, she'll stay with us forever, and we'll start working to get her certified as a therapy dog. I think she will enjoy that immensely. I don't think it will take much work getting her ready to the testing, she's such a fantastic dog.
